About Me

Recent transplant to SF from Bend, OR. App Academy grad, recovering service industry worker, stage manager. Philosophy school drop-out. I have yet to pinpoint the meaning of life, but I've certainly pinned many hems, and I think I've found a common thread to tie it all together...

A colleague once passed on the advice "Keep calm and carry gaff tape" and that has stuck with me ever since. I love a good puzzle, and thrive most when working on a project or finding a creative solution to a problem (as we said in my a/A cohort, D.T.D. or Down To Debug!). I love to organize and am an admitted checklist-aholic.

Whether it has been working in local theater, managing a neighborhood grocery store, or cooking elaborate multi-course meals for friends on a week night, one thing always seems to be true- there's nothing I would rather do than to contribute to and be surrounded by my community.

That passion, and some fierce service industry burn-out post-pandemic led me to pursue a new career path. I started to teach myself coding, and discovered the exact efficacy and empowerment I was looking for. And I soon after dropped everything to join App Academy's software engineering bootcamp.

Not OK, Cupid

Not OK, Cupid is a clone of the popular dating site okCupid, using a React frontend and Flask and Python backend. It was a group project completed with three other developers at App Academy. It uses customizable preferences and quirky personality questions to "mismatch" users with each other in an effort to promote friendly communication between people who may not have otherwise talked.
